FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that Shane Vereen, who replaced Ridley after the starter had trouble holding onto the football Sunday against the Bills, fractured a bone in his wrist and will undergo surgery. The injury is expected to cost Vereen "a few weeks," or about 2-3 games. That opens the door for Ridley to regain his feature-back role as soon as Thursday against the Jets, but as I wrote earlier this morning, you never know what Bill Belichick will do....

Carr’s numbers won’t bowl you over, but there were some things to like, namely his 21-12 TD/INT ratio. It’s not too often you see a rookie quarterback do such a good job of not throwing the ball to the other team. Also, and this was probably a product of trailing in the majority of their games, the Raiders didn’t have too many reigns on their rookie signal-caller, letting him sling it 37 times per contest....

Despite a brief respite from the byes in Week 12, we still have the Panthers and Cardinals off in Week 13 and Byepocalype 2.0 in Week 14 with the Falcons, Bears, Packers, Commanders, Colts, and Saints all taking their mandatory PTO. That will leave holes in many lineups as teams battle for postseason berths/positioning, so now’s the time to try to shore things up.
